Which Small Electric Cabled Mower Please

I have a small established back lawn and I would welcome the teams suggestions for the above.

Its about 20 foot by 10 foot

When I was in my early twenties and even more stupid than I am now my friend and I nearly bought a goat to hire out to neighbours to keep their lawns cut but it would only work on circular lawns!!


Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

    I always bought the Flymo. I haven’t bought  one for a few years though so maybe they’re not so good, used to last for years. 
    Very light, but if you get one with a collector not so light.

    I have a large garden with a lot of grass to cut. My last 2 mowers have been Bosch and the last one needed a new drive belt this summer, but the man in the repair shop sucked his teeth, hummed and hawed and said it wasn't a model he'd seen before and it might be hard to source. I left him with my phone number and have not heard from him since! After nearly 2 months without a mower, some parts of the garden were nearly inaccessible, though I'd kept the lawn reasonably tidy with  the baby Flymo (plastic blades) that I had to cut the veg garden paths. Not surprisingly, it struggled with long grass though.
    As I was sure I would have been contacted if he wanted to be paid, I got a new mower. The big Bosch did a good job, but was heavy and laborious to use. New models were reportedly less good and outsourced to China and after reading lots of reviews I got the wheeled Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C. It is so much easier to use than the Bosch, lighter, smaller, but still with good grassbox capacity, though you can use it without the box. It really is quicker and I am less tired at the end. Easy to assemble too and it has a 12m cable which makes it reach further than most other makes. It is height adjustable, but doesn't have a rear roller. This was a plus for me, as my hillside garden is unsuited to stripes, as I need to mow in different directions, but if you want stripes you will need to choose a different model. I haven't gone down to the lower heights either, so can't comment on how good the finish is. We have so many moles, my grass is always uneven and I never went below 4 on the old mower.
    I have been impressed with how well it has tackled the overgrown areas and have made a good start (weather permitting!) on reclaiming my garden :)

    As it’s only a 10’ strip, have you thought about a good push a long type.  By the time you’ve got the cable out and plugged in it could be quicker by hand.

    I thought the same @Lyn ,  but maybe @NewBoy2 has already ruled that out - maybe the lawn is a uneven, or he wants to go for the no-mow look for part of the year, in which case he'll need something that can deal with long grass, which means rotary not cylinder, and as far as I know manual push mowers (like mine) are always cylinders.

    That’s true  Jenny,  I always liked the hover mower for uneven ground and longer grass, as long as you clean the fan out every couple of mows, but as it’s such a small lawn it would probably go much longer between cleans.

    We've had a Bosch Rotak 34 for more than 10 years and it's been brilliant.  Copes with long wet grass well, and makes a neat job of edges etc because it has a rear roller.
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    When my little mower died [an old Bosch one]  about 4 or 5 years ago, I bought a cheapo Argos own brand one. It's not the best in terms of sturdiness, but it copes with all my grass no problem. I had two lawns until I removed the back one earlier this year. Both were a bit bigger than yours @NewBoy2, and it's been fine  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
