Hey @Jac19, that's nice 😀 it's a good bunch of people here and sometimes things can get taken the wrong way and they seem like an attack, but the only thing is gardeners like to do battle with usually is weeds and slugs! 😄
I grew up in a warm area till I was 19 and we had Jasmine Officinales planted all around the house. You open any window, and there were Jasmines, birds, and bees buzzing around them. Butterflies flocked to blackberry trees growing wild. The house had a ventilation grill which bathed the house with the scent of Jasmine. My earliest memory is of waking up to the scent and sounds of jasmine. Happy days.
I bring up Jasmines wherever I go, and they, too, are only happy in John Innes, with lots of manure mulched in. So, Jasmines and JI are like the best things in life for me.
Some of my first memories are of me "helping" in the garden. Not sure how much help I was but I used to collect rose petals to make perfume with when I was aged 5. Probably ruined all the blooms but it's these early experiences that shape and form us 😀 ...ooooh time for gardeners world... better watch on catch up! 😉

That sounds idyllic @Jac19, what a lovely memory to have.
I think my earliest garden memories are of playing next to the white dead nettles that grew under our back hedge. I always thought they looked like fairy towers.
Ok Wonky, as you like, but I will never forget, I never cry about anything, I’m as tough as old boots but that night i did shed a tear for him, fortunately a big rant to the mods it got removed but it’s imprinted in my brain and will be for a while.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
It's not as I like it Lyn, I think we all like this forum to be nice and friendly. Yes, there was a nasty atmosphere, yes things got out of hand and horrid things have been said. An apology has also been offered and a genuine attempt to move past it. Its not my place to accept the apology, I wasn't really involved but being a fellow human I believe in forgiveness, not telling anyone else how to think but I appreciate it.
