Dwarf fruit trees

Hello,

I have ordered 5 dwarf fruit trees from J.Parkers.
2 apple, 1 pear, 1 plum and 1 cherry.
I've never grown fruit before. They will be going directly into the ground.
Any tips? They are going in the sunniest part of the garden and will get sun pretty much all of the day.
Do you have any pictures of successful dwarf trees?
Many thanks,
Jasmin

I do rather like that QI tip about digging square (rather than round) holes to plant trees in. I've no idea whether it makes a difference in practice.
What has worked for me is to plant a length of drainpipe next to the new fruit trees - it's made it much easier to get water down to the roots. I put a sock, slate or stone on the top of the pipe to prevent evaporation.

Don't plant them too close together. It may be tempting with dwarf trees but you will need all round access to prune properly.
