Inserting replacement arris rails

I need some kind of wizardry from the forums to get these fence repairs done.  There’s no apparent give in the fence posts which are concreted in, so I can’t squeeze in the new rails…

    If I can’t fix anything with gaffer tape or WD40 I resort to a hammer, any good?😀😀
    OH says he cant see a way, can you make some sort of bracket fixed to post and re do the dovetail.

    I’m thinking of trying to flex the rail forward of backwards to bring the ends closer together.  Will try it tomorrow but I think they’re pretty rigid.

    If you can get a couple of mates it could work.

    There are metal brackets available that will fix rails to the posts. You can trim the rails so they just fit inside the posts, and then fix with the brackets.

    Google arris rail brackets you will see what I mean.

    You could maybe shorten the rail ends so you need a little less bend, or/and extend the slots upwards on one of the posts so you could angle the rails and slide them in from above?
    I wonder about bending the rail by
    screwing a spare rail securely to one side of the posts, then using a spacer.

    Stone the crows, it worked!

    Took two of us at full strength but not so hard after all.
