Blackberry recommendations

Hi all we are going to add raspberries and blackberries to the garden this autumn. I'm pretty sure I'm going with polka for the rasps, can anyone recommend a blackberry variety ? We have a big wall so space is not an issue,  we could fit 2 of the biggest plants going.

I grow Waldo that is a thornless variety.
    Large berries of excellent flavour.
I've got approx 6Kg in the freezer from 1 plant.

Not exactly a blackberry, but you could try a thornless loganberry; they're quite prolific and fruit around July.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • Thanks @Pete.8 that would maybe a good choice to go with a 2nd variety. @Eustace Mrs wilderbeast is very keen on a loganberry me less so maybe more negotiation required
  • Polka raspberries, Waldo blackberry and a loganberry for Mrs wilderbeast all ordered 👍👍

We had lots of natural blackberries growing wild when I was a child.  Butterflies loved their flowers full of nectar and birds loved to eat the fruits.

Dont buy your raspers from https://james-mcintyre.co.uk/

I planted them and after 10 months nothing had happened.

Distance instructions were misleading etc etc

When I planted my raspbs I saw noting above ground for 16 months - then they were everywhere. They were just growing an extensive root system before sending shoots up
