Pear tree leaf issue

I get this on my pear tree each year, it is disgusting and makes my skin crawl just looking at it!  What is it? Can I prevent it??

    It's pear rust - a fungal infection - not the best looking though is it.
    There are no sprays available for use on edibles.
    If there are just a few infected leaves you can pick them off, if there are lots best leave them be.

    Thanks @Pete.8, I wouldn't want to use any sprays but was hoping maybe there was something I could do to better care for the tree to prevent it, but it doesn't sound like it unfortunately!

    I've got 5 pears, they all get it to a greater or lesser extent - just one of those things we have have to put up with
