Autumn flowering plant ID help please

Hi,

I have seen two autumn flowering plants in a garden nearby and can't find them searching on the internet. So thought I would see if anyone here knows what I am talking about!

1. White single flowers similar to anenome, slightly larger - about 2.5/3 inches. Plant about 1.5m tall. Leaves feathery along the lines of asparagus/dill. I thought it was anenome until I saw the leaves.

2. Flower stem with small flowers (about 1cm each flower) along one side (in a similar way to how English bluebells grow but smaller flowers). I think bell or tubular shape flowers. VERY distinctive colouring - the top flowers are red then as they get lower they go orange, yellow, white.  Also was about 1.5m tall flower stems. Sorry, I forgot to look at the leaves.

    Cosmos sounds a good shout for No 1
    Really need a photo for the other one.
    Nothing springs to mind for me, but the Ipomoea sounds good - especially if they're in the same place, as both are annuals.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Brilliant thank you! Both of those look right (though the Cosmos was a little taller than the listed heights on websites but it could just be a different variety).

    I thought it might be a bit weird to be taking photos of someone's front garden so didn't

    Cosmos are all different in height, but the growing conditions also have an impact on size  :)
    I know what you mean about taking photos!
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I feel a bit weird taking photos in my own front garden!
    In London. Keen but lazy.
