What is happening to my tree?
At first glance, it looked like my tree was dying from the top
Upon closer inspection (the most zoomed in image) it possibly looks like it is shedding needles and forming new ones?
What do you think?

I wonder if there's been a lack of water - with it being right against the wall, which is always a drier site. Often, with firs and conifers, the problem caused by drought doesn't appear until quite far down the line. By that, I mean that the lack of water could have been ongoing for a considerable time without the tree actually looking troubled.
Have you had a look at the soil underneath?
If it isn't that, it could be excess sun/wind just affecting that top section.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
