  • I hope that you have more success with it next year Fairygirl. I'll try to remember to send piccies if mine are as good.

Aye - just rub it in @Lancashire Lass ! :D

I might just make the whole plant into cuttings and see if I can get them to grow on a bit better. Depends how enthusiastic I feel  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

You can be sure that if they aren't as good next year there will be a notable absence of photos!
Maybe you might try putting the plants into pots? I can't claim to know how or why mine have been so good this year!

I usually keep mine potted - at least initially, because I don't have too many good sites for them @Lancashire Lass. Then they go in the ground once I can amend the conditions well enough. Those white ones are perfectly happy. Should have said - those were the correct names I gave earlier  ;)
I've just taken that PK one out of the ground [ a raised bed in a nice sunny spot] and potted it again, because it just wasn't thriving. Ironically, we've had better conditions this year for plants like dianthus, than we normally do.

I'll see if it does better next year  :)

Thanks @Lancashire Lass. I keep earmarking dianthus in various sites, because I love them, but not all of them are great for my conditions unless I create a little area for them.
Good luck with yours too  :)
