80 head sunflower

Hello!

We have managed to grow a monster by accident. At least 80 heads counted and more come everyday. It’s around 10ft tall and just from a normal packet of seeds. 

Anyone grown such a big one before?

    Never grown one before but will certainly think about it now for next year.
    It will be interesting to see if anyone can compete with yours.  :)

    We have the same problem(?) On the allotment. It's easily 10ft tall and has been providing us with a massive vaseful every couple of days for a month now!

    @"bryn.fowler1" - that's lovely!  Is that really just 1 plant??  Do you remember which variety it was and where you got the seeds from?

    @borgadr yes it really is one plant. Just from a packet of giant sunflower seeds. The rest did as you’d expect and this must be a rogue seed or something. Definitely saving some seeds from it!

    Lots of them are multi headed.
    Loads of different varieties of sunflowers   :)

    Good for cutting too, or leaving for the birds. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
