Pruning a Weigela
in Plants
I planted a Weigela in June it has not flowered yet and there's no sign of any buds . As this should be pruned in Spring should I leave it until then or wait until after it has bloomed next year?

I should have said - normally you'd prune after flowering. If you prune in spring, you'll prune off the flowering stems.

They make quite large shrubs in time but you can cut them right back and they will start afresh. The bees love the flowers.
I thought it looked like a peony too, but I just posted as though it was a Weigela as I only grow a white one, and I wasn't sure if it was just another variety I was unfamiliar with
