What moves and eats fallen plums?

Hello

I've noticed that our fallen plums are being moved onto the deck before being eaten and am curious as to which creature might be doing this. We think it could be crows/rooks but can't see why they would do that.

There are no droppings near the plum stones so no clue there. I don't mind them being eaten because there are more than we can eat, but it would be nice to solve the mystery. The photo shows the location of the deck in relation to the tree....Any thoughts?
Thanks

Squirrels are a possibility but in spite of the numbers of trees, we've never seen a squirrel in the 20 years we've been here!
Thanks, the garden looks nice in selective photos, but don't look too closely... ;)

Our rooks will devour potatoes and many types of fruit, so they're my bet. They're exceedingly resourceful.
