Best Cam for capturing Bats

Hi all,
We have recently moved to Norfolk and get a lot of Bats circling our Garden at dusk collecting insects and the such so we wanted to install a camera that would best catch some of the action so any advice/recommendations on what Camera would be best? Would also be great to capture the bird activity during the day.
Many thanks,
Al

Bats in flight are very difficult to photograph - small and fast moving in almost no light is beyond most non specialist equipment. You would need to set up a laser or infrared beam trigger system on the flight path to fire a camera and flash pre-focused on a set position.

I caught some bats on the Bushnell trailcam  when the foxes had already triggered it.  Even slowed down to 10% using the slow motion processing , they were so fast each frame showed them blurred.  I did get some video of some flying round our oak tree. I did it on a warm clear night just before dusk, standing under the tree with the bats silhouetted against  a clear sky using a Sony Handycam.

  • Best to watch them as they are moving around in the dusk.
    Great to see them.
Our cameras don't pick them up...too quick.
