recommendation- Blackmoors

just had a thornless blackberry arrive- Waldo. It's a stunning plant, very healthy and arrived very quickly. Just wanted to pass along the recommendation of Blackmoors if anyone looking for an online fruit nursery

I too got my Waldo from Blackmoor a few years ago - an excellent plant.
I've got about 5Kg berries in the freezer :)
I also bought blackcurrants from them - great plants too

  • Gorgeous plant Pete- and so much fruit! is it tied into supports? think I spy some wires in there?

Yes, I used the gripple system and concrete post brackets that I got from Rivelin Glen.
Just 3 (plastic) wires gives plenty of support for it.
It fruits quite early and they are very tasty berries of a good size.
As soon as the berries are done, I remove all the stems that have fruited - only about 4-5 and tie the new ones in for next year.
I hang a few CD's on the wires to keep pigeons off them and that has worked very well.
I also used the small anti-pigeon spikes on top of the fence panel to stop them crapping all over the berries - I prefer custard :)

I've bought fruit bushes from Blackmoor - blackcurrants and a redcurrant and blueberries - all very good plants  :)
