What the on earth is this

Found this in my wormery today. Is it some kind of baby slug? It looks evil!

    I found rat tailed maggots, now they look grim but apparently quite harmless.

    Possibly but how would they gave gotten into the wormery?
    Edit. The things in the photo are smooth and not ribbed. None of the pictures I've seen look this smooth.

    Larvae of some kind by the look of them. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Yes, larvae.  They definitely have the tail.

  • I had maggots in my kitchen waste compost bin one time when I tried an outdoor wormery with tight lid. I don’t know how they got in. I haven’t really bothered with composting kitchen waste again since.

    This is the first time I've had something like this. Slugs and banana flies yes.
