Unusual plant or shrub ID

Does anyone know what this is? It looks like a huge specimen of something or other. It had a Plant-like stem rather than woody stem but was huge - at least 15 foot high and conical in shape. Sorry image is sideways on

Echium of some kind, by the look of it.
I can no longer cope with the sideways photos, and I'm afraid I can't be bothered turning it.  Sorry.   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Ooh thanks - so it is. Never seen that before. Looks like an Echium Pininama (searched for pics on google). Mystery solved - thank you!

Only takes a minute to turn it on my laptop. Doesn't have leaves like my echium but may be a different variety. Don't know how it would flower and is certainly a good height.
All I have to do to turn it is save to finder, rotate right or left and put back on. Don't have to make it smaller or anything complicated.  :)
