Lasagne planting using Fritillaria Imperialis
I have a large (ish) pot (38cm diameter x 38cm height) that I'm planing three Fritillaria Imperialis bulbs into but can't work out what other plants/bulbs to also plant in there as a lasagne to give a longer display.
Evidently the flower April to May.
Might you have some ideas as my brain has given up the ghost on me?

They're very impressive plants, so I think something like Ophiopogon planiscapus nigrescens would be better round the edges of the pot, but the growing medium would need to be right for watering etc.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Fritillaria imperialis bulbs are large and have a deep hole in the top. They will rot of this fills with water so do remember to plant them on their sides to avoid losing them as tehy'r enot cheap.
