Didn't grow runner beans as we've had this problem before and aren't that keen on them. With this in mind, I just grew a few French beans in 2 varieties.  They have been delicious and we've had them with practically every meal.  Daughter had some, but her neighbour was also supplying her and next door neighbour has also had some.  Tonight's will be the last of them and whatever is left will be allowed to develop beans.  Some have had to go in the compost bin, but I don't feel guilty about it.  What I do feel guilty about is not getting the young plants of beetroot into the ground.

I've lost a lot of plants this year by not potting them on in time and I feel rubbish about it. I always make pledges with myself to not buy any plants at all until all the ones I aleady have are in final positions. I always fail to hold to it. But I really don't want to waste plants any more. I currently have a deck full of plants (cuttings, divisions, bought plants, gifts) that urgently need attending to. 🙄

Give most of them away @Fire, you'll feel virtuous and then not guilty at all.

No daft at all @Fire, I seem completely incapable of throwing unwanted seedlings in the bin and can't resist splitting bigger plants and making more which I know I haven't got room for!.
I've had a lot of pleasure this last year giving away all the plants I don't want or need which have been taken quite quickly. I've also stocked my daughter's new garden for her.

I don't grow any veg and if I did it would not be runner beans or courgettes.
Why go to all the bother when at this time of year people are giving them away!
I have several pounds in the freezer already!!!!!

I also don't feel guilty about throwing away a flowering plant like the supermarket mini roses, gerbera, primula, poinsettia etc once it is past it's best.I enjoy it while it looks good and then chuck.
A £20 bouquet is admired for a few days and then consigned to the bin and are quite happy to do that but a plant that has been grown specifically for a brief show that cost less than a fiver is nurtured and rarely performs very well.

I mean it's daft for me to spend money on plants and then not plant them.

Guilty as charged @Fire, I bought a lovely apricot potentilla a month ago and still haven't planted it. I thought I had exactly the right spot, then realised the colour would clash with something else nearby.
