Putting hanging baskets on a tree is a new one on me too....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

: Some trees can be very boring outside their flowering season. May be an opening there - lots of mini baskets with flowers could look good

. A climber would always be nicer IMO.
We're not sure it's a genuine post though.

Use less water on the initial watering but go round a second time to top up if there is no dripping at all from under the baskets. Quantity of water required will vary depending on weather so it's not possible to say to reduce to x amount.
