Save the Corn

Hi, first year growing veg and we have had some good success with the corn until we turned up and the squirrels have decided to help themselves.  We have seen a few people putting plastic bottles over them but wondered if anyone else has other strategies for this as not a fan of plastic if i can help it

    They stripped 70 in an afternoon from me some years ago. I believe they are good roasted.

    Squirrels. I boil the sweet corn, slather in butter and eat. I have noticed that the deer has taken the tassels off the ones at the edges of the block. Last year she had a fancy for the french beans, but the slimers beat her to them this year and the runners seem to be too hairy. Still I think she is moving on to scrumping apples.

    We can't grow sweet corn as the badgers just love them and rip the whole plant apart to get at the corns.
    Never known squirrels to do the same but maybe they have learnt.
