...an old favourite... I grow 'Kathleen Harrop' now which is the same in a lighter shade of pink....
.. I didn't find it half as scented as people claim, but the bubble gum pink really stood out... blooms profusely from mid May for several weeks, then sporadic reblooming into autumn, but never the same again.... gets all sorts of diseases during August, including some mildew, but I never took much notice..  it's worth it for the Spring display, but in my opinion, for the modern garden, and modern tastes, 'MS' is better suited..

..here's 'ZD' on my fence at its best.

..I have 'Wild Rover' on my arch, but I deem it not tall enough for yours, my arch is much smaller and this is suitable..

..what you should be looking to achieve is something like this, however this is a once flowering rose called 'Apple Blossom' but you see how effective it is when the same rose is planted both sides...

    East Anglia, England
  • Mortimer Sackler looks good, but it says it only has light fragrance. Does anyone know ‘penny Lane’ I’ve seen it on Trevor white and it seems great @Marlorena?  Others that look good are woolerton old hall, pippin, crown princess marhareta, anyone got any info?

I had this rose Super Dorothy in a previous home; always in bloom and looked nice on an arch. Very light fragrance though.

Crown Princess Margaretha has very stiff canes; I think it is much more suited for a pillar rather than an arch.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • I love alibaba - @Robmarston. You can see / smell one on an obelisk at roath park rose garden.  I Have it and it has great fragrance, beautiful flowers and repeats frequently.
