  • I've got good at spotting them when they're really small @Fairygirl !
    The elders though seem to appear in dark, less visited corners, so aren't always spotted till they need digging out!

    I don't have any elder near enough @Buttercupdays , so I haven't had any of them in this garden, but my car parking area is gravelled, and always chokka with little cotoneaster seedlings, as is the bigger border along the boundary.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • It's about 5 years old, next to other shrubs and a fence. I think maybe it's the variety and the berries being pink unlike the native variety. There are plenty of blackbirds here too.

    Maybe I will have to make something with them  :)

    I've never seen anything but pigeons in mine. Even the squirrels aren't interested.
    I've always wondered what pollinated them. I've never noticed anything in daylight so I suppose it must be moths. 
    In London. Keen but lazy.
