  Hi David and welcome to the forum 
  
  That's just a bit of insect damage ... some sort of leaf-miner ... perfectly normal for this time of year ... wildlife and weather all take their toll ... nothing to worry about now ... it won't have an impact on the health of your tree ... the leaves will soon be changing colour and falling. 🍂

  I think there's a leaf miner specific to cherries/plums etc
  I seem to remember someone mentioning it on a thread recently - maybe @BobTheGardener 
  They're not really too problematic. 

  It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  Yep, leaf miners only cause aesthetic damage and don't affect the fruit.  With all fruit trees, it's a good idea to remove all fallen leaves when the tree goes dormant and either burn them or dispose with garden waste (don't compost) as many pests overwinter in the leaf-litter beneath the tree.
