I have to say I don't think I'd swop my polycarbonate greenhouse for glass, even after replacing a few panels in the storms.  I'm on a low budget and it's perfectly suitable for my needs.  I placed it in a sheltered spot,  attached it to a wall and dug the frame into a trench and it has survived welll for years.  Replacing panels isn't expensive,  £14 average at b and q and I silicone in with gorilla glue silicone.
  • We have a Palram 8 X 8 balance. I was all for binning it after the first storm, but we persevered.
Extra braces were installed, silicone and clear UV tape from the tool station.
    Miraculously it survived Franklyn.
Palram have been brilliant in customer service and provided free replacement parts.

I can't say fairer than that.

  • Had mine now for 3 years, its on concrete but on the first floor terrace. It gets buffeted by a lot of wind whipping around the building but so far has survived well. My only gripe is that somehow quite a few of the panes have water in them, so can go a bit green over time. Keeps everything happy over winter and starts my seeds off nicely.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.
