Our local Shed has women too. I haven't been (haven't been old enough for very long!), but they do all kinds of stuff - commissions for local school and community organisations, individual commissions, fixing stuff and people's own projects.
Yesterday there was a community day with stalls and entertainments and they'd made lots of products to sell and raise awareness of the Shed. Here's a photo from their Facebook page:

    New to me.

Thanks for flagging it up. It's good to have men-only spaces designed for men to connect and help with mental health problems.

If women aren't allowed to attend, do you think they would be allowed to deliver a bunch of wood and get the men to make them something nice for their garden? I can imagine it might be intimidating for a women to ring them up and see if they're allowed to go so thanks @Gardengirl.. for flagging this potential.

Some Sheds have mixed days. My local Shed has one day for men and one mixed. A bit like a sauna schedule. :D

New to me too. There’s one in the next village.

It does say: “Sheds typically attract older men, but many have younger members and women too.”

London is generally a place which would be more open to allowing things like that. Can't imagine many small backwater towns in rural-ish Lancashire/Yorkshire welcoming women, even they were keen on learning woodwork to make some nice things.

Our shed is mainly men-only, as that was the original point, but now has I think one women-only day. They all work together on some projects.

Edited - just checked and they used to have separate days but have since changed to being mixed.

If in doubt - start a session yourself at the Shed.

They are going to set one up near by so me and my mum went to a meeting on Friday as they are thinking about it and how many interested in going. (there were quite a few men that went) so think may happen, they had 2 local nurse/ doctors there to talk about it and a bloke from a different mens shed

They even brought cake,  I had a hammer cake - very taste saved it for the next day for my 2nd covid jab to make me feel better

I wondered if anyone goes to one, this one for all ages and men and women they just call it mens shed it is at our local nature reserve where we have helped out before

LG great photo interesting products made

Sure you can go and ask for something to be made - maybe if there is a phone line ask that way, seems like women are allowed to go
