I watched Gardeners World this week, and Monty was showing how to save tomato seed. I did this for the first time last year, and the advice that I followed said to put the seeds in water for 2-3 days to get rid of the gel sacks, before drying. Some people have success by slicing a bought tomato and directly planting it and then thinning the resulting seedlings. Many ways to the same result 😃
