Can anyone advise on how to propagate Portuguese Laurel?

Is it a good time of year?

I've not done Portuguese laurel @Buch , but I think it's the same as cherry laurel, ie now and into autumn, with semi ripe cuttings.
    Have you done cuttings before?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I had great success with sowing seeds in seed trays and leaving them outside, under a hedge, all winter and all germinated.
Tried cutting - they did not take at all.

Just some easier stuff like Dogwoods and Roses.

I never see berries on my Portuguese Laurel, is it because I trim it at the start of summer?

Yes - if you prune [for hedging for example] you'll cut off the flowers  :)

Just do the same as you would for the other plants with your cuttings.

  • I've rooted them lots of times in water.
