Dead Grass

Hi looking for advise please. Firstly I assume the grass is dead in these patches. Can anyone advise on a fix? Preferably using grass seed? Thanks

Can you post a photo of a wider view and give more info?
It looks totally parched. No point seeding without sorting what's wrong  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Regarding the section that runs alongside the fence, l would leave an edge and not try to grow grass right up to it. Apart from possibly being tricky to mow, you've also got the problem of fence posts, and the shade and lack of moisture . It looks as if there were possibly decorative stones or something laid along it at some point, which wouldn't help.
As regards reseeding, some info here.

  • Has it been strimmed off recently?

If the grass was very long before it was cut it can sometimes look like this but will green up in time.

    Failure is always an option.

There’s no grass there, it’s all moss and weed, best to dig it up and sow some autumn seeds.
