Pollarding them [eucalyptus] each year helps retain the foliage colour, and will keep it to a better size if you have a small space @jodyshirto. I'm assuming it's E. gunnii as that's the most commonly available one in the UK

Yes - plant out and keep it pollarded each year. It helps retain the colour of the juvenile foliage as well as restricting the eventual size. It would need a very large container to get the best from it. A purpose built one really.
