    Hostafan1 and Posy..... I don't think they are Alliums. I have various sorts of those and they didnt look like this.

    At the moment they are being kept in a box to await decisions from you all which are much appreciated.

    Same garden but different question.......we unearthed a slab which has been used to cover a small manhole type thing. Most obvious idea was to get a large pot to stand on top of it.
    It is positioned right in front of a conservatory window next to the wall, facing south and owner will probably forget to water it more likely than not. Any ideas for something 'tough' that wont grow too large height-wise ?

    I found these exact mystery bulbs last year, whilst digging a friend's garden. And yes, they turned out to be bluebells in the spring.
