Lemon tree suckers

Hi there,

I'm growing a lemon tree from seed and so far so good, plant looks healthy and good growth etc.

One thing I'm unsure of, I've got these shoots growing in between the branches and stem of the plant. I know on tomato plants these 'suckers' should always be removed but no idea with this lemon plant. All I can find online is advice about shoots below graft lines etc which isn't relevant.

Any ideas? I'm tempted to get rid of them!
Much appreciated

They're not suckers, they're side shoots.
If you remove them you'll end up with a leafy stick and no lemons.
The side shoots will form branches and give your lemon a nice tree shape.
So I'd say leave them alone.
Completely different to tomatoes where the side shoots need to be removed to stop the plant becoming a bush

I agree with @Pete.8 It's a tree and those are new shoots which will form new branches. :)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
