Tomato fruit blotches

What is causing these dark brown blotches on the fruit? They are 'Red Alert' growing outside in a large tub. At first I thought it was drops of water scorching them in hot sun. Now I'm sure that is not the cause. I can't find this condition described in books or online.

    We do eat them and they are good, but it's never happened before and I don't want it to happen again!!!

    as they're ok to eat, I'd just carry on. 
    They're just a teensy bit imperfect. I'd not over worry about them.

    I'd agree with @Hostafan1 - none of us are blessed with perfect skin, toms included ;)
