What is wrong with my plum tree?

Dear all, any suggestions for what is wrong with my Victoria plum tree?  Also if anyone knew any cures that would be great.  The plum tree was planted in April this year.

    The tree has had aphids on it ... they excrete sticky honeydew which coats the leaves ... over time the honeydew turns black with a sooty mould.  You can wash the worst of it off with a hosepipe.  

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    The way all the leave are turning in on themselves suggests it could do with a drink. Keep it well watered so that it remains in tip top condition to help fight pests and disease.

    I'm inclined to agree with @Igrowfromseed as well, and if it was only planted in April, which was very dry almost everywhere, it's possibly struggled a fair bit. It looks like quite an exposed site too, which is very drying   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
