What plant is this/seeds are these?

These broke off a larger plant in my garden but I have no idea which plant they fell from. They seem to be seed pods. I’ve included some pictures.

    Any lilies around there?

as @Dovefromabove said as soon as I saw the picture Lillies  came to mind.
  • I think @fidgetbones is correct I remember seeing some flag Iris at the bottom of the garden so that’s what they are! Thank you for identifying them. I shall be sowing these seeds again and hopefully more will appear next year.

You need to leave the seed pods to ripen on the plant to get viable seed. Those white seeds will not grow.  Flag Iris you should be able to split up to make more plants.
  • @fidgetbones thanks for your advice oh it’s a shame they won’t grow hopefully there will be more seed stalks when I check the plant they came detached from.

be careful what you wish for. They can become pretty invasive.

I would agree - with the ID, and also about them being rather troublesome - to say the least....
Lovely when they're in an area that suits them, as long as they stay there  ;)

Did the flowers look like these
If so agree with Hostafan and Fairygirl... these are the invasive Iris pseudacorus...common name flag iris.

We had loads of it in a previous garden, but it stayed largely where it was - in pond edges and the wet overflow along the boundary. Anything creeping into the grass got mown off, and the pond was big  enough to cope.
