What food and drink do you take to the allotment...if at all

I tend to get there just before mid day and take a plastic box of mixed fruit and a hiking flask of chilled water with ice cubes.

trouble is I get hungry and most is gone by 1.00pm.

but usually a sandwich with a flask of pink grapefruit squash hits the spot after some weeding.

It's not for the Allotment but when I have the luxury of a days stint in the garden or when I'm working in other people's without a break,  I like to take a slab of homemade quiche and a flask of coffee, favourite quiche being Stilton asparagus and courgette.
Good fuel for garden work plus it's using the produce of the garden too.

If I had an allotment I'd take a flask of iced squash or tea depending on the weather and a couple of cheese salad baps. Need my carbs and protein to keep me going!

Flask of tea, another of water,  either a sandwich, made with wholegrain bread, or  sometimes a box of salad with some form of protein.

I usually get to the plot around 8:15 and leave before 12 so on hot days a bottle of squash no food never ever except for the odd cough sweet if needed.
