    Thanks for the update @YessicaHaircut 🙂 - I'm not sure I fully understand either....

    Maybe it means that if your tree has a mature height of (say) 3m and it's a single stem, you could have branches forming as low or as high as you choose. So you could have a 1m trunk and a 2m 'head' or a 2m trunk and a 1m head.

    If you go for the top grafted tree and the graft on the rootstock is at 1.5m you will always have a 1.5m trunk and a head growing up to 1.5m high.

    So presumably, with the single stem, you might have the option of influencing the ratio of length of trunk to the size of the head.

    Do you think that's what she meant?

  • I honestly really don't know! That was kind of my understanding in terms of the head starting at a fixed point for the grafted but could end up starting higher for the single stem, but then she just kept repeating the same thing and insisting they'd end up looking the same. :/
