My nigella seed heads are round, they look a bit more like aquilegia to me, but without seeing the foliage hard to be sure

@Pete.8 that’s the one! Columbine! Thank you! Any ideas when best to plant the seeds? 😊

Plants usually drop seed at the right time for them to germinate, you could sow some now (it's a little late in the season) or wait until next spring to sow them which will give flowering plants the following year. They are unlikely to be the same colour as the parent plant.
I have seedlings pop up all over the garden and have rather too many of them atm. I was digging some out yesterday.
If you have a look around the main plant you may fine some tiny seedlings already. Easy to spot thanks to the distinctive foliage. You could pot them up and plant out early next spring

    Good man  ;)
They usually seed around - but just sprinkle them where you want them and see what happens. You could also do some in a seed tray and stick it somewhere sheltered. They germinate easily but won't always be the same as the parent plant   :)
