Hydrangea vanilla fraise

Is it meant to be a bit sprawly or should I have pruned it? It's three years old.

In London. Keen but lazy.

They [paniculatas] should be pruned in spring, but it depends how mature it is. I wouldn't hard prune a young plant.
3 years isn't very old, or do you mean you've had it for three years?  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

It's three years old. The branches are quite long but weighed down by the blossom @Fairygirl

Probably could have done with a prune, but you'd need to wait till spring now.
I think that's the problem with them generally. The blooms can be too heavy for the branches/stems.  :/
