Can you help? I’ve just seen this lovely fragrant low plant (40cm) covered in white flowers. I was so surprised that the small leaves smell of mint when crushed. Can anyone identify it? Ive searched in lots of places - no luck yet.
Thanks for responding so quickly I think it might be the Calamintha nepeta. It does look similar from pictures on the net. It had small leaves as I remember.
oh! A reply to a question I didn’t ask. Just home from visiting Blagdon Hall in Northumberland. Spotted a very floriferous plant, squeezed and sniffed a leaf, minty. Well I hadn’t a clue what it was. Well now I do know, and folks say there’s no such thing as coincidence. Thank you Hostafan.
Thanks so much got your help! I know it’s a bit cheeky but there was a very similar plant next to it with purple / pink flowers. Similar flower form but didn’t smell of mint. I thought it must be a thyme - not sure. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance
