Clematis Armandii flowered in August

I have a clematis armandii apple blossom which was planted in Autumn last year. It has grown vigorously this year and flowered this week (in August!) I’m confused as it’s meant to flower in March? Anyone else had this experience?

  • Mine flowered prolifically in March but has also just produced a few flowers in August which it hasn't done before. Not sure why.

Lots of clematis have 2nd flushes of flowers, especially spring flowerers, but general conditions often contribute to that.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Ours often sends up new flowers late July early August. A treat to have them again as such a wonderful clematis.

I won’t worry then, how lovely to have it flower twice 🙂
