Sick Fuchsia

Can anyone help me diagnose what is wrong with my fuchsia bush, please? It is a mature, hardy shrub but for the second year running most of the buds have seemed to ‘fail’. They almost look mouldy 😔. Thank you for your time.

    It could be fuchsia gall mite.
    I cut mine down to ground level and disposed of the prunings in the council bin. This was two years ago. My fuchsias are fine this year. It might work for you, but it doesn't always.
