What’s this plant?

Can anyone please identify this plant? It’s growing in long vines(?) across our flower bed and looks like it wants to climb. I was hoping it would flower but nothing so far.

Might it be some kind of ivy?
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • I don't think it is an ivy, leaf shape wrong.
My first thought was a periwnkle but again the leaf shape is wrong.
Hopefully you can leave it to see if it does flower.

Not sure, but wonder if it is Smilax sp?
Sorry not a species that I know very well.
Does it have tendrils to cling on/climb?

  • It doesn’t have tendrils but it’s made a few attempts to climb the fence before falling down again. I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Thank you all
