You can cut it back, but they don't always survive that, despite what some people keep on saying. It might be ok just now to take some damaged stems back a bit, but if you're somewhere which gets frosts by October, it would then be better in a greenhouse. I would just pot that up in decent sized pot, and keep it somewhere sheltered - ie out of full on sun, and somewhere it won't be annihilated by rough weather. Then you'll just have to wait. It may produce more new growth, or it might not. That's just how it is. If it recovers and puts on new growth next spring, you can trim back some of the damaged stuff. Those variegated red ones are a bit iffy in colder areas, so it might not make it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Sorry, only just seen this If it were my plant, l would pot it up and keep it somewhere sheltered over Winter. I wouldn't touch the top growth at all. That is a fairly good root system, so there's still hope. D'oh , saved the draft and forgot to post it 🙄. One of those days!
Yes - willowherbs, and a mustard or something similar -maybe from a bird feeder.
I don't think those were ever likely to thrive, but it's always worth a punt. They'd been failing for a while judging by the early posts and photos. No point in planting Hebes if they don't have the right conditions to keep them thriving.

I find that the Post button sometimes 'doesn't', and it saves a draft instead though, so maybe that's what happened.

my Hebes now after potting from ground border to pots in September as suggested… not seeing any signs of life? Are they gonners?
