    Ha, if only everyone consulted a garden forum of experts before planting trees that won't suit their space. I'm going to put in an Amelanchier alnifolia 'Obelisk' in the space vacated by the everygreen and leave it at that. Thanks for the recommendations!

    Good choice, thank you for letting us know and glad we could help. My own choice would be an amalanchier a bit more open and spreading for a lighter look but Obelisk is nice too.
