pathetic nasturtium

in Problem solving
my nasturtiums are looking really pathetic this year, pale small leaves, poor growth, is it a mistake to have them in pots? Can they be revived?

    We've got them growing successfully in pots this year ... as well as in the ground ... plenty of water and no feeding and they've been fine. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Is there much soil in the pot?
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    I grow most of mine in pots, just a few in borders where there's a space. 
    I know they don't need much sustenance, but I think that's a bridge too far in that pot  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    7 Inch pot about 3/4 full of garden soil, no feeding.

    One of mine looked similar but perked up when I pulled off the seed pods and cut back the paler leaves. Might be worth a try?

    I don't think there's enough in there at all to support them. That pot would only support a couple of seeds for any length of time. 
    Pots should always be filled to around an inch from the top at most - probably half an inch.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
