Inca Bella Potato Damage

I have just lifted the first of my Inca Bella and although the skins and the outer flesh were perfect and undamaged, when we started to cut them up for chips we found that every one was damaged in the centre, see photo. Can anyone tell me what this is as it does not look like worms or slugs as the outer flesh would also show the damage?

That looks like Hollow Heart … caused by erratic watering (hard to do much about that this year) … some varieties are more susceptible than others.

Yup lots of water after a dry spell while the potatoes were swelling. Smaller potatoes tend to be less affected, they are perfectly good to eat but don't store very well.
