Moving plants
I've done the usual amateur thing of not thinking how large plants can get when I was planting my garden nearly from scratch three years ago. So now I need to move certain plants as they are being crowded by others.
One of them is a star magnolia that's no longer getting enough light. It's only about two feet tall and it doesn't look happy in its spot.
Is there a good time to move plants, or is it on a case-by-case basis?

I often move things when I need, or want, to, but if you're unsure, it's better to wait. It's easier to re establish shrubs when temps are cooler and there's adequate rainfall to save them becoming dehydrated.
