Lawn riddled with weeds

Hi everyone, my lawn is fairly large but it’s covered in weeds. Digging them out individually isn’t practical there’s so many. I don’t know where to start. Re-turfing something this size is a bit extreme. Is a granular product best for this problem?  Any recommendations?

Granular with a spreader is probably easiest for you, but be very careful not to overdose any areas. Follow the instructions carefully and don't be tempted to add a bit more. Go less if in doubt. As far as I know they're all feed and weed products and we're getting towards the time of year to use an autumn feed rather than a spring/summer one (less nitrogen for autumn) so you might prefer that.
If you really have a lot of weeds, you'll probably have bare spots after they're dead so you might want to rough up the surface with a rake and add some more grass seed, or more weeds will seed into the bare soil.

I'd agree with @JennyJ - ideally done in spring, with a follow up if needed, but at this time of year. better to use an autumn one.
The most important thing is to follow the instructions properly.  :)

Thank you. Sorry for the late reply. I saw some positive results. Still a lot of ground to cover but it’s working.
