Pruning

I have a Buddleia Globusa planted about 6 months ago. To me it looks really healthy. Everyone says prune after flowering but it hasn't flowered. It's in a large container and I don't want to plant it in the garden so don't want it to grow too big. Should I assume it has flowered and prune now or wait till next year to see if it flowers.

However I think you’ll struggle to keep it in that container for very long. it won’t be happy and therefore is unlikely to perform well.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'd agree with @Dovefromabove - just keeping it in a pot won't really work if you want it to be smaller. They want to be big shrubs.

Unfortunately you have chosen the wrong plant for container growing ( you may get away with it in a dustbin or something of a similar size for a couple of years ) so perhaps time to pass the plant on to someone else and have a re think about what would be more suitable for your situation
Fingers crossed that you will at least get a show next year
Or am I just cynical

It is peeving tho when the sellers aren't totally honest with the prospective purchaser. It happens so often judging by some of the posts on here.
Good luck with it - it'll definitely benefit from being planted in the ground
