Which gloves?

I’ve had some gloves with rubber palms and fabric backs for some time but I can’t seem to find that type/make any more.

 I’ve got winter leather ones which are warm but I can’t do a thing in them so although they look nice are pretty useless, I was given some lovely rhs soft touch leather ones for Christmas  but they wore out so fast ☹️ I tried to sew them & glue them but they just ended up with holes in the finger tips!

So can anyone recommend gloves that last a reasonable time , that are dexterous (if that’s the right word ) can cope with nettles and some prickly stuff and aren’t too expensive! Or am I looking for hens teeth & rocking horse doo do !!!!

    My partner (who gardens for a living) swears by the cheaper Briers gloves, the ones sold in multipacks. They're washable and fairly long-lived and cos they're cheap she doesn't care if they get wrecked

    Thanks!! I have small hands so the first would be too big but I’ll have a look at the suggestions!

    Strange. They also do sell small ones which are cheaper at £3.95.
    I use the same kinds of gloves that you do and find that I get annoyed when water gets in the fabric bit at the back. I've used all sorts of different pairs over the years and rarely pay more than £2/pair. Verve (B&Q) were a bit slippy and not grippy and my most recent pair were "workwear" which I think was from Aldi.
    You could look at Toolstation or Screwfix who do those kinds of gloves. Screwfix will ask for your postcode when you go in, but you don't need to give them it. Just tell them you don't have an account.

    Screwfix do a good range of gloves. I get mine there, including their red suede welding gloves for tackling brambles.

    I use Showa , they do lots of grades,  light touch all the way to thermal, all sizes.  Not the cheapest but it's what a lot of professionals use.

    I use small showa ones. Not too pricey and last a lot longer than other similar ones I've bought elsewhere. Although to be fair to other brands I've usually been stuck with size medium from garden centres and shops, which are too big for me! Thin and snug enough I can tie twine in them, but waterproof enough for hand weeding, is my criteria.
